Stargate: Continuum; is it July yet?
Had an exam yesterday so I didn't get a chance to see this until now.
Wow. It looks like Stargate: Continuum will be even better than Ark of Truth. Because now the writers aren't stuck tying up a plot. They can go crazy! And go crazy they did, if this trailer is any indication. I can't wait to see this. Jack's back and it seems like he's actually involved in doing stuff this time; no sitting around for him. :-)

Whoo, Stargate SG-1 is back!
Oh man, it's like, geek resurrection month or something. All three Joss Whedon shows are in the comics and Stargate SG-1 is back. Yay!

I can't believe it's been a year since I've seen any new SG-1. Through the wonders of the Internet, I watched "Unending" back in March 2007. It was so nice to see the team again and be involved in that part of the universe. And since I wasn't forced to watch this movie through "alternative means", I got to watch SG-1 on the TV for once. That was nice, too. A nice, relatively big screen for this nice, epic story.

I hope the movies do well and then they can make more. I wouldn't mind two DVD movies every other year or so. The only downside would be you wouldn't get to see entire movies devoted to character moments and you'd only find out what the characters have been up to every other year. Still, it would keep the show alive and that's just fine.

Hee, the crew of Stargate are Firefly fans
Bought the season ten DVDs of Stargate SG-1 on Tuesday just because it's the last season and I figured I would make the effort. Of course inside the box was an ad for the boxed set for all ten seasons but I'm not sure if I care that much. :-D Anyway, been going through the commentaries and hit the first episode Morena appears. Turns out the writer bought the Firefly DVDs and instantly became hooked. Then he started loaning them out and the rest of the crew became addicted. Don't know if any of cast became fans; the writer and director said in the commentary the cast and crew are all fans, but "cast" could just cover the lowly bit players. A couple of times in the commentary the writer and director gush about Firefly, which was so nice to hear. And this hasn't been the first time either. Firefly got a bunch of mentions on the Stargate Atlantis season two DVDs, mainly because of Jewel.

And a cool tidbit I did not know. When trying to cast Sheppard, a few names came up, included among them Ben Browder and Nathan Fillion. Seems like they didn't really pursue Nathan, but I think it's great that he's one of the names that popped up. Though the writer in the episode commentary wrongly called Nathan a Manitoba boy. Uh dude, he's an Albertan, born and raised.

In general Stargate ranting, the box boldly stated that the set included the trailer for the first DVD movie, The Ark of Truth. I was sadly disappointed to learn the trailer consisted of old footage from episodes concerning the Ori. No new footage at all, except at the end when there's sand blowing over something buried in the ground. The Ark of Truth I assume. Hopefully for the Atlantis season three DVDs they'll have a better trailer. Cause the dang movies have already been shot; it wouldn't hurt to show a bit of something to entice the fans.

However, I fear spoilers may come out as the I progress through the commentaries. It's obvious they were recorded during the off time between seasons, so Atlantis season four was probably well into script stage and maybe some stuff was being filmed, along with the two DVD movies. Though, not much has been revealed and the producers probably want it to stay that way until next year.

But bottom line: Firefly fans are everywhere! Even on other sci-fi shows. :-D

Ten years of Stargate SG-1
Okay, wow. Just watched the last episode of Stargate SG-1. At least, the last episode that's not a DVD movie (whenever that comes out). I assume the writers were given enough warning about the end so they wrote "Unending". Spoilers behind the cut.
